Text	Detroit is anxious for base-ball representation. The Free Press has the following report of a recent meeting held in that city to discuss the advisability of organizing a nine: “...Mr. Bancroft stated that he had interviewed Presidents William Hulbert, Evans, Soden, and Root, of the Chicago, Cleveland, Boston, and Providence nines, respectively, relative to the admission of the Detroit Club to the League, and those gentlemen assured him that they would work and vote to admit the Detroit Club.
